The classes start again on TUESDAY 11TH MAY 2010
On Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm,
a short 3 session DRAWING IN THE CITY AT NIGHT course.
This course will be held at the Hive Bar in Erskineville www.thehivebar.com.au , a real treat of a venue. We will be looking each week at a different aspect of drawing:
Tuesday 11th May - The Non-verbal Communication of Line
Tuesday 18th May - Gesture Drawing
Tuesday 25th May - Light and Dark
AND
Over 2 Saturdays, 15th and 22th May, 10am-1pm,
DRAWING IN THE CITY IN COLOUR.
We are looking forward to exploring the expressive potential of colour in our course. With new materials, new exercises, new cafes to discover, new menus and ways of having brunch together.
They are both 6 working- hour courses.
The price for the course is $70/$50 concession.
And a combo option of $110/75 if you wish to attend both courses.
They are the only courses we will be running for a few months. So please come and make the most out of them.
Description of Classes:
The class meets each week at different sites of interest around central Sydney.
We work in cafes, bars, or en plein air, with tutorials and practical exercises.
This course follows the tradition of drawing in the city practised by Pablo Picasso, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Edward Hopper, Brett Whiteley and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
In a stimulating environment students are encouraged to experiment and find their own personal voice. With supportive guidance we explore the techniques and expressive qualities of drawing.
Each week we focus on one aspect, such as drawing foundations, gesture, light and dark, alternative materials, and collaboration.
We look at relevant artists and current exhibitions. Learning from each other is central to the course.
